Author Visits
Thank you for your interest in having me visit your school! Below is some information on what my presentations include, however, I can easily customize my presentation to fit the needs of you and your students. Feel free to reach out with specific requests!
I cannot wait to meet you and your students. Connecting with kids and talking about the children’s book writing, editing and publishing process, as well as the themes of my books – self-esteem, acceptance of self and others, learning to speak up one for oneself, etc. – is my most favorite part of being a children’s book author!
What to expect?
A highly visual and interactive PowerPoint slideshow for grades K-5 which includes the following:
- Engaging discussion about the book process from the initial story idea to publication

- Q&A session
Each visit includes stickers, bookmarks, and printable activities for teachers to do with their students before and/or after the visit.

Can Stella find a way to accept that she and Paige can each be their own, special and unique people, and still be twins?
“An engaging celebration of self-love from the perspective of a twin…”
—Kirkus Reviews
Twin sisters, Stella and Paige are different in a lot of ways – especially when it comes to how much they like to talk. Paige is super chatty and outgoing, while Stella’s a bit more timid and soft-spoken. The truth is, Paige often speaks FOR Stella.
Stella’s always been okay with being the quiet one . . . until now. Suddenly, Stella has something to say. But can she find a way to make her own voice heard over Paige’s? And will learning to use her own brave voice hurt Paige’s feelings—and their special relationship?
“Stella’s Brave Voice may empower other kids to find theirs, too…”
—Kirkus Reviews
Petunia does not like to make mistakes. In fact, she’ll do just about anything to avoid making one.
Petunia’s so busy trying to be perfect, there’s no time left in her life for being creative or having any fun!
Will Petunia finally understand that it’s okay to make mistakes, and begin to accept herself for who she is – imperfections and all?
“Addresses the important themes of self-acceptance and the value of imperfection.”
—Kirkus Reviews, Starred Review
